An award winning painting. Tampa Bay Tarpon captures the tarpon and pinfish found in the area. Tarpon season is an exciting time in the Tampa Bay area. This painting was inspired by an underwater photo of the tarpon. He was hunting for something so I added the pinfish to the mix. Small fish school to fool predators, but one little fish is lagging. Does he make it back to the school? This painting won the Tampa Bay ArtPop Billboard Contest, it can be seen on billboards in the Tampa Bay area. About Joan Garcia
An artist in the Tampa Bay area, Joan has artwork in corporate and private collections nationally and internationally. Having lived in Miami, Costa Rica, Texas, and finally returning to Florida, she has been working professionally in fine art and portraiture for over 40 years. Having participated in numerous shows she has won both patron, People's Choice and Best of Show awards. Her body of work stretches from realistic landscapes and still life paintings in oil and acrylic to portraits in colored pencil.
